Walking around in Königswinter

Whenever you find the time

Königswinter is a nice town in the Rhine valley, placed at the foot of the The Seven Mountains. This volcanic massif with an average height of 400 m rises on the eastern bank of the Rhine. The whole range is classed as a national park. Each of the seven summits, now heavily wooded, was once crowned by a castle. The slopes of the Siebengebirge form the most northerly point in Germany where vines are cultivated.

Barbecue at Onkle Hakki's

Onkle Hakki's is a local restaurant. They will prepare a barbecue for us.

Excursion to Castle Drachenfels

Wednesday, 15:30pm till early evening

We take the funicular to the Drachenfels summit. Due to renovations there are, unfortunately, no guided tours of the castle. But we will have a walk up there and enjey the great view.

Those who stay till Thursday can have dinner afterwards, while for those who want to get back on Wednesday evening, there is still enough time to reach Karlsruhe, Koblnenz, Saarbrücken,...
